EDITORIAL OVERVIEW

How respins work

A respin repeats all or part of a reel evaluation under modified conditions. One reel may move again, selected symbols may remain sticky or a counter may continue while qualifying symbols land.

The essential question is state: identify what carries into the next evaluation and what event returns the game to its normal base state.

Respins are not automatically the same as free spins or hold-and-win. Free spins usually award a set of complete game rounds, while hold-and-win is one specific locked-symbol respin structure.

Follow the sequence until the game totals the result and releases the controls. Intermediate respins commonly belong to the original initiated round rather than a new paid spin.
